Our client purchased the beautiful property designed in 1926 by John Volk, a renowned architect in the history of Palm Beach, in a somewhat run-down condition. Having studied the historical and architectural significance of the house we quickly established our approach. Our client quickly accumulated a large dossier of historic photographs and other informational properties to share with us. We created a series of formal and informal spaces, all which would blur the line between interior and exterior. Each garden space would be shielded slightly from the next, providing glimpses of the spaces beyond, which would draw visitors further into the garden and allow them to slowly discover elements of each. The client was an active participant throughout the development of our designs, from concept to completion, and their passion for the whole restoration was always evident. We believe this shows in the wonderful result.
