Our client approached us when they were looking to purchase a Landmark house in Palm Beach. The house was designed by Addison Mizner in the mid 1920’s, and they wanted to make sure that the beauty of the original architecture was not lost during the reconstruction. They hired the local architect Mark Marsh to spearhead the restoration of the house, and Mark, with whom we have worked on many occasions, recommended SMI. The property, on South Ocean Boulevard, has the advantages of expansive sea views. But when we first saw it, the lawn was at the same height as the road, which meant that the view was solely of passing cars and asphalt. We knew immediately that the site had much more potential. With open minds, the client allowed us to propose what we felt would be the ideal scenario for the property.
