The client brought us in to rescue this project. Their new house on Everglades Island had been built and the landscapes were complete, yet they were not satisfied with it. After living with it for a while, the client reached out to us and explained their wishes. They felt exposed to the open bay, and wanted privacy for their family and their guests, by eliminating views from boaters and other onlookers. They did not like the view from the garden, either. It is directly across the Intercostal Waterway from a residential area in West Pal, Beach, and, besides the views of those residences, they could also see the city high-rises to the north. The client enjoyed the view of the water, but not those of city buildings. This was the challenge presented to our team. Our client and SMI could not be more pleased with the finished garden, which has been featured on the cover of Garden Design Magazine and in other publications, and has won many awards. The greatest reward to us, however, is the enjoyment it brings to the family and to all who visit.
